About these numbers

  • Sources: Northwest Florida Water Management District (28,897 records). Records were fetched October 25, 2026.
  • What’s counted: wells with a reported depth whose use is household, irrigation, public supply or agricultural. Monitoring wells, injection wells, plugged wells and permits that were never drilled are left out. Methodology.
  • Dates: the source layer for this area publishes no construction or permit date, so we can’t say how recent these wells are.
  • Approximate locations: 5,633 of 28,897 records (19%) share their exact map point with at least four other records, so they’re probably placed at a section, subdivision or parcel-group center rather than at the well. That matters for “nearest well” distances, less for area figures like these.
  • Not a guarantee: a record shows how deep one well was permitted or built. It doesn’t predict yield, water quality or what your well will need.

Will a new well at my property in Bay County be this deep?
Not necessarily. These are depths other wells were permitted or built to. Depth depends on the aquifer, water quality, use and local rules. A Florida-licensed water well contractor and your water management district can tell you what a new well at your property needs.
